Software Engineer (Part-time, 24 hours/week)
Location: Apeldoorn (Hybrid/On-site, Netherlands)
Start date: 1 October 2025
Contract duration: Until 31 July 2026 (extension possible, up to 2 years)
The Role
We are establishing a new Technical Realization Team and are looking for an experienced Software Engineer. In this role, you will develop and manage integrations on our WSO2 integration platform, contribute to building a modern data platform, and coach internal colleagues on new tools, methods, and best practices.
This role is a mix of hands-on development and knowledge transfer, making it ideal for a professional who enjoys both building solutions and mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain integrations using WSO2 ESB/EI, API Manager, and Identity Server.
Design and implement ETL/ELT processes and data flows (SQL, streaming, batch) for the data platform.
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integrations and data components.
Introduce and guide colleagues in the use of container environments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Implement and coach best practices in Git version control (branching, pull requests, code reviews).
Act as a technical mentor for colleagues, with a strong focus on knowledge transfer and training.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria (to be demonstrated in the CV):
5+ years of proven experience with integration platforms (preferably WSO2 ESB/EI and API Management).
3+ years of proven experience with APIs (REST/GraphQL, SOAP) and event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
3+ years of proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).
Proven experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
Proven knowledge of Git version control and collaboration workflows (branching, merging, reviews).
Nice to Have
Experience with data platforms (PostgreSQL, DataVault, Lakehouse).
Experience with OpenShift.
Strong background in coaching or training colleagues.

A valid VOG (Certificate of Conduct) is required.
Travel expenses may be reimbursed.
Hourly rate can be indexed during the contract.
Possibility of permanent employment after the contract.
Selection Process
Candidates will be scored on experience and hourly rate.
Top 3 candidates will be invited for an online interview on 26 September 2025 (09:00–12:00).
Interviews will focus on profile alignment and cultural fit.
